Success stories

For all the professional learners involved, use of the CPD Library is seen as a highly cost-effective addition to our development provision.

Blended learning for trainee teachers

The National Association of School-Based Teacher Trainers represents 200 member organisations in the ITT sector and more than 10,000 trainee teachers. With NASBTT Learn (a mobile/online training solution delivered in partnership with Anspear) 100+ SCITTs have been able to offer trainees a true 'blended learning' approach. A comprehensive library of Anspear training courses has been incoporated alongside usual face-to-face provision, also adding depth and personalisation to existing online learning. Take-up and input have been impressive: more than 3000 trainees use NASBTT Learn and between them they have earned 13,000 digital awards for completing Anspear courses.

The Park Academies Trust

Flexible CPD for all staff

TPAT invested in Anspear CPD across the whole trust so that teachers, support staff, governors and trustees can benefit from the programme. The investment has allowed staff to develop a common approach and target their valuable INSET time at the areas for development that best meet their needs and aspirations. Staff can access training courses at times that suit them, working remotely and at their own pace. The CPD courses encourage a high level of reflection, which the trust notices has translated into better practice and higher pupil engagement. The Trust SENDCo has also been able to create a tailored CPD programme for TAs, whereby different TAs can be trained in different areas of need with little training time or cost. All training sessions are now more efficient and delivered in greater depth. Across the trust, 400 staff members make use of Anspear CPD and earn on average six digital awards each.

Digital training in prep schools

The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) represents 700 of the world's leading prep schools. They offer member schools a range of face-to-face training services and wanted to supplement this with a convenient and comprehensive suite of digital courses, discounted for their members. Anspear created IAPS iLearning, an IAPS app containing over 80 of Anspear's published CPD courses for educational professionals. This helped IAPS offer more to their members while also supplementing their revenue stream.

I am using NASBTT Learn while finishing my teacher training and it is being wonderful. Excellent material and at hand, also relevant information for the beginning of my teaching career.

Gloucestershire Virtual School

Guidance for Foster Carers

Gloucestershire Virtual School uses Anspear CPD to deliver essential guidance and training for foster carers on mobile, tablet and computers. They recognised that the life of a carer can be very demanding and face-to-face training may not be easy to access given the demands of a family life. Anspear's CPD overcomes this barrier by giving carers the chance to train at their own convenience and by supporting the wellbeing of foster carers themselves. Awarding certificates of completion to foster carers has been significant, as they can demonstrate to their fostering social worker that they are engaging with CPD. It is easy to overlook the need to praise adults in the workforce that support children in care.

Islington Virtual School

Custom app for care leavers

Anspear has worked with Islington Virtual School to develop 'Izzy4U', an app targeting care leavers with support, guidance for leaving care and interactive educational content for curriculum catch-up. The app name and logo were designed by Islington's care leavers themselves, in collaboration with Anspear. Izzy4U also contains a custom guide for care leavers offering crucial information about local services and advice they require as they move towards independence.
